Helen Dalley
But seriously... Helen is actually from Stoke-on-Trent, a small city located in the midlands in the UK and loves being able to see the boats sail through the harbour from her flat in Siu Sai Wan after living so far from the sea for such a long time. A graduate of the University of Bradford where she studied English and Psychology, Helen edited the university's magazine as a student, which ignited a life-long passion for writing. After college, she studied some more for a journalism qualification and became a writer for various music magazines in England, interviewing rock stars and going to lots of loud concerts before taking a sabbatical to travel around the U.S and Canada. On her return, Helen enrolled in a TEFL course and discovered the other great love in her life, teaching. She loves swapping teaching tips with her mum, a former deputy head teacher, as well as her cousin, a head teacher.
When Helen isn't teaching at Mud Pies, she continues to pursue her passion for writing by contributing to publications such as the South China Morning Post and Travel + Leisure, and inflight magazines for Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Dragonair. She also loves pretending she knows how to surf, eating frozen yoghurt covered in sprinkles, and going on holiday to Japan whenever possible.
