Mud Pies:
Mud Pies:
Susan: MUD PIES
Mud Pies:
Mud Pies:
Mud Pies:
Mud Pies: What is your experience of teaching and what do you enjoy most about it?
Susan: I have had experience in teaching since 2003 in Canada and Hong Kong. It is most satisfying when I see that spark in the eyes once the student 'get's it', like a light just switched on.
Mud Pies: Where is 'home' for you?
Susan: For me, "home is where the heart is", defines it for me. When I think home, Canada is home because its in the heart of my childhood and all the people I love there, but Hong Kong is home because its something for the future and again its the people that I have met that make it feel like home.
Mud Pies: What is the best thing about Mud Pies?
Susan: The best thing is the people at Mud Pies that really define this place, everyone here cooperates and makes an effort to create a good team and I have always been involved from day one and made to feel part of the team.
Mud Pies: How would your students best describe you?
Susan: My students would probably describe me as a big child, because playing like a child uses imagination that's really fun and I try to use it as much as I can. I really encourage kids to be free with their imagination. I think it really helps them to explore what they like and to get creative.
Mud Pies: What is your favourite children's book?
Susan: My favourite children's book is Mother Goose's nursery rhymes because they are short and tells a story that can be silly or serious.
Mud Pies: What activity, place or thing makes you happiest?
Susan: I am most happy snuggled into a comfortable chair or in the park with a good book. I can do that for hours, best with a cup of tea and a biscuit.
